At first it seems that being the board will make us responsible for every situation. Yet what it really allows for is critical thought. Instead of "flying off the handle" about situations we analyze them and learn. The author speaks much about living in this "world of measurement." This is something that we cannot escape, and yet we do not have to let it control our life. We can still learn to think critically, reflect, and learn from situations and pass on these habits to those around us.
I have enjoyed reading this book. It has been refreshing reading, as it is easy to work through, and yet it still causes me to analyze situations and think critically about what I am reading.
